Background

Since 1998, Kennett has been engaged by Woolworths Ltd to maintain current store visual identity through the use of various Woolworths ‘kit drawings’. Once drawings are received, Kennett takes all responsibility for delivery of the revamped areas within the existing or new stores. The effective delivery model is Design and Construct.

Construction Detail

Ranging from cold shell fitout to full demolition and refit. Kennett is charged with interpreting the kit drawings to deliver a standard that’s consistent across the Woolworths brand. We have also delivered large-scale additions to shopping centres, such as Dan Murphy’s and BWS. These works usually entail completely new buildings constructed and integrated to the existing shopping centres.

Challenges

– Working in occupation

– Dust control

– Customer traffic flows maintained

– Noisy works programmed to minimise disruption

– Vehicle traffic management

– Store delivery co-ordination

– Complex services changeovers, i.e. electrical, hydraulic, security, etc.

Outcomes

Woolworths has trusted this work to Kennett for close to 20 years because of our ability to work autonomously, safely, within the brief and to the stringent budgets allocated by the client. We are often exclusively selected to deliver the highly complex projects due to our comprehensive understanding of the retail environment.
