Resthaven Port Elliot
Background
Established in 1935, Resthaven offers high quality, responsive community and residential care services. They required a 92 room aged care facility in Port Elliot including the upgrade and expansion of a heritage listed school house and four retirement living units.
Challenges
- There were initial budget challenges requiring an ambitious value management outcome
- Design, quality and sustainability had to be of the highest standards despite budget restraints
- Access to and availability of trades needed to be considered with the distance of the project from Adelaide
- Work had to be completed with minimal disruption to the community
Outcomes
- We met budget objectives without compromising the integrity of the design, quality, sustainability and appeal of the development
- The development features two lifts, commercial kitchen laundries, residential spaces, HVAC, reticulated hydraulics, access control, wet and dry fire precaution and nurse call systems
- Outside externally landscaped walking, seating, gathering, passive and active recreation spaces provide for residents and their visitors
- We successfully restored the local heritage listed school building for the use of Resthaven Community Services
- Through frequent consultation, we kept neighbours informed of our activities to minimise the impact of the construction process on the community
- The project was completed ahead of schedule, on budget and to high standards, earning us the client’s praise
