Pembroke College, Girton Arts Precinct

Pembroke School’s Girton Arts precinct marked the fifth project for Kennett Builders at the school since 2002. Pembroke School offers a strong and successful drama, music and arts department so it needed a large and new precinct to replace the shared, cramped and run-down existing facility.

Challenges

  • The project had to be built within a tight time frame and encompass the needs of the Year 12 students.
  • It was a requirement to provide a learning environment with hardwearing materials to withstand the rigours the precinct may face.

Outcomes

  • The project was completed under budget and on time, within the end of year school break.
  • The precinct is now one of the largest and newest school facilities on site.
  • The facility features, in-ground 60,000 litre rank tanks, brick snap precast panels, 300 seat retractable seating, 17 person lift, wireless hearing loop for deaf students and 422m2 of new landscaping.

Awards
