Background
Established in 1964, the Animal Welfare League (AWL) operate the state’s largest animal shelter at Wingfield, as well as a Shelter at Edinburgh North, caring for approximately 10,000 cats and dogs each year. Built in 1975, the existing shelter and vet clinic were now sub-standard and not fit-for-purpose, so they approached Kennett about the redevelopment opportunity, based on our good relationship and previous projects. This is the third consecutive project to be undertaken by Kennett as part of the overall AWL redevelopment masterplan.
